Testimonials

Just a quick note to say thank you for an amazing trip to Croatia. What a great week. I seriously cannot think of a better way to spend time away. What a brillant expedition...would thoroughly recommend this to anyone. Thank you all again for a great time and will no doubt be back. J Davies

Wanted to send you a wee note to thank you for the opportunity to have a sea kayaking adventure. I enjoyed the challenge and the experience and came home refreshed and revived - best wishes Vivienne

Left London in Oct in the drizzle and arrived in Croatia the same day in pleasant warm conditions. Felt like we'd extended our summer when, after 6 day of warm water, shorts , sandals and sea kayaking, we returned home refreshed after an exhilarating week. It was simply fantastic. The water was spectacularly clear and the sunsets from camp, with a glass of wine, were memorable. Thank you for the excellent guiding ( and cooking!) and care shown throughout. Trip Description

Sea kayaking in Croatia : crystal clear waters and blue skies

“On the last day of creation, God decided to crown His work, and thus created the Kornati islands out of tears, stars and breath” — George Bernard Shaw

Our venue is just south of the Zadar and Pag Island area within an hours drive to the Paklenica National Park. We start at Pakostane village as a base prior to heading out into the Kornati islands. We have two trip levels to meet the needs of beginners or more experienced paddlers:

6 Day Advanced Intermediate Pack & Paddle Expedition :

Sea kayak experience is needed for the 6 day pack and paddle trip and you need to have had some previous touring days of 20km + under your belt, sea kayak skills training involving all of the core paddle skills, experience of control in waves and rescue practice. No need to have rolling skill. This trip allows us the time to get right out amidst the outside Kornati islands and onto the edge of the Adriatic and the stunning sea cliffs.

6 day Beginner Expedition :

If you're new to kayaking then our 5 day beginner format is at an introductory level with a day of training & practice prior to a five day wild camping trip by kayak. We aim to teach skills on day one before guiding you through the clear Croatian waters on a 5 day island hopping expedition. As with all of our sea kayak expeditions you need to be upper body fit in preparation for the activity.

We can use single or tandem kayaks on either format to accommodate all needs. Have a chat with us to see what suits.

The Dalmatian Archipeligo

With up to 147 islands, and uninhabited coves and shorelines, the Kornati Islands National Park offers the largest and densest archipelago in the Adriatic. With unspoilt nature, benefiting from the protection of the park status, these islands are stunning. The water is warm and we only paddle here in the spring or early autumn allowing comfortable air temperatures of anything from 18 to 25 degrees celsius.

Trip Options

We base ourselves in the village of Pakostane where you can choose one of two package options:

Trip Only Option 1 - Self Cater: Your free to use any accommodation locally, pay for this yourself. You can use the Nord See campsite in the village of Pakostane which is well facilitated with a bar and restaurant onsite and has its own little beach providing an ideal start & finish point for our expeditions. Or search on booking.com for other options locally.

Trip Option 2 - Apartment, plus catering on expedition: Apartment accommodation in Pakostane during the non wild camp days either side of the expedition phases - you can use the self cater kitchen or eat out in the village during the non wild camp expedition nights During the expedition camping phase you'll be cooked for and provided with all meals. We also provide cookers, pots and fuel so that you can travel lightweight.

On both formats : Anyone with good fitness ( regular upper body exercise pre-trip essential!) wanting to experience sea kayaking with a longer camping/expedition element.
Although the conditions in Croatia are generally warm and calm we do also paddle in windy conditions requiring a good positive approach to personal fitness preparation.
6 Day Intermediate format: Individuals need to have acquired all the core paddle & sea kayak manoeuvring skills and had some formal instruction previously as well as having participated in some sea kayak touring days. Confidence in waves and ability to brace and recover essential.
