WESTER ROSS CONDITIONS UPDATE 21 NOVEMBER 2024

These blog updates are based on local observations, from our base, in Lochcarron and from on the spot reports out on to the hill. We accept no responsibility for safety and planning of any mountain routes – you should use these updates as an aid alongside MWIS, Met Office and SAIS forecasts.

WIND (MPH) at 900M    35-45 MPH might exceed 50              

OBSERVATIONS

Frequent snowfall, upland gales, very cold and dull. North-northwesterly, varying - often 35 to 45mph, sometimes less. Strongest in the morning, at dawn speeds may exceed 50mph. Conditions difficult, movement becoming almost impossible at times, balance hard to keep. Strong wind chill. Easing just a little afternoon.
