"it would not have been possible to pack so much into the week without your superb organisation and local knowledge. It was a long way to come from London but worth every minute to blow away all the stress of work. For the sake of my sanity I think I'll need to do several of these trips next summer. Can't wait to come back. Top marks on your equipment & care of group " James Whittle
Sea kayak fjords week
"although we paddle lots of short trips with our club we learned loads surpassing anything we would have achieved on our own. What I liked was the fact that you where always keen that we improved, enabling us to potentially run our own trips in the future. Don't worry though, even though you don't seem concerned about doing yourself out of a job us 'leisure' paddlers will always look to your longer itineraries after seeing how organised and professional you are at Mountain & Sea Guides!" Brian Jones
3 lochs week
You'll be well equipped with the best kit
Time spent gazing . . a lot
Amazing crowd free beaches
The Torridon mountains , Loch Torridon
This is a great escape for those of you wanting to enjoy wild scenic paddling without packing for an overnight wild camp. Using our vehicle and trailer we're able to be flexible so as to get the most out of the weather and a variety of locations.
Our three great lochs cut a swathe inland through spectacular mountains and wildlife habitat. To the north of our Lochcarron base is Loch Torridon with its rough ancient Torridonian sandstone and Lewisian Gniess shorelines. Paddling beneath the steep mountains of the Torridon peaks is a bucket list destination for many paddlers. The upper loch is sheltered and large enough for a day paddle on its own. The outer loch puts us right out on the edge of the Minch where dolphins & whales pop into the loch on a regular basis.
Lochcarron offers beautiful tree lined shores of mixed woodland with lots of otter territory and seal colonies. Beyond the Strome narrows the views open up to the Isle of Skye and the Cuillin mountains as we explore the Kishorn islands.
To the south of our base, Loch Duich heads south east to the stunning Kintail peaks. Paddling towards the five sisters of Kintail is an unforgettable experience. We also have the option of paddling north east through Loch Long using the tide for a free ride! And setting off with the stunning Eilean Donan castle as a backdrop is a bonus.
We meet each day at our kayak base at Lochcarron golf club car park. After a short planning session we'll embark by road to the start point of the kayak route for that day. You'll be fully involved in all aspects of planning for the weather, tides and routes allowing a chance to develop confidence and skills towards future expeditions.
This four day trip is a great precursor to our longer trips such as the The Inner Sound Sea Kayak Expedition , Isles of Raasay & Rona Sea Kayak Expedition , Introductory Wild Camping Sea Kayak Expedition , Dalmatian Islands Expedition, Croatia . As with all of our experiences we aim to continually improve your paddling skills throughout allowing opportunities for future trips.
This trip can also be run on any four days in the calendar for a minimum group of three booking together.
